Anyone who has applied to a grant understands the rush of excitement when you open an email with encouraging words, you did it! And that is the spirit in which the facilitators at Fund for Teachers carried the entire process, including dealing with some hiccups along the way. The journey to Oman was an incredible professional and personal experience that helped extend the walls of my classroom for myself and students. One of the goals of this field experience was to explore the Arab slave trade while experiencing the sights and sounds of the country that once was an empire that facilitated the trade.
